Summary
RMSS offers handloom weavers and SHGs a 15% price subsidy and freight reimbursement on yarn. Benefits are sent via DBT to Aadhaar-linked accounts within 48 hours. This ensures affordable raw materials for individual weavers and collectives to sustain production.
Eligibility
- Individual Weavers: Handloom weavers who own and operate functional looms.
- Collectives: Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Joint Liability Groups (JLGs), and Cooperative Societies.
- Producer Companies: Registered Handloom Producer Companies.
- Weaver Entrepreneurs: Individuals involved in weaving, marketing, and owning handlooms on their premises.

- Proof of handloom census registration or verification of functional looms.
- Aadhaar-linked bank account for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of subsidies.
- Proof of registration for Cooperatives, NGOs, or SHGs.
- Original purchase Invoices
Subsidy/Benefits
- 15% price subsidy is provided by the Central Government.
- The subsidy is transferred directly to the beneficiary's Aadhaar-linked bank account via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), usually within 48 hours of supply.
- Reimbursement on freight is capped at 2.5% of the yarn value for most types.
- Silk Yarn: 1.0% (Plain) to 2.25% (Hilly).
- Jute/Coir Yarn: Reimbursed up to 10% in all areas.
